Hope Town, Elbow Cay, Abaco Islands, Bahamas

KORKZcrew is the blue dot on the map

Another cloudy day, but a great one for climbing the Elbow Reef Lighthouse with Greta and Skeet. It's an easy climb to the top, with no admission fee, and a breathtaking view of Hope Town.

From the Bahamas.com website:

"The lighthouse stands at 89 feet, with 101 steps, and is one of only two remaining beacons saved from automation (which is vigorously opposed by residents). Extraordinary efforts are undertaken by the locals to secure the parts for the kerosene-burning apparatus of the light, most of which are no longer manufactured."

It was fun to spot KORKZcrew in the marina below. You can see Ron on the stern.

Later that afternoon the four of us took a walk on the beach, and Skeet and Greta took a dip while Steve kept up his goal of being the sandiest dog on planet earth.

Thank you Hope Town, for another wonderful day!
